Agents for Change: Why We’re Doing Things Differently at This Year’s WiEA

For the third year running, The Depositary is proud to be a sponsor of the Women in Estate Agency (WIEA) event (NOT a conference!), but this year, we wanted to do something bigger.

We’re taking up the baton as After Party Sponsor, stepping into the role from our dear friends at The ESTAS, because let’s be honest, we do like a party! But this year, instead of the usual event giveaway merchandising, we wanted to do something that genuinely reflects not just the spirit of WIEA, but the values that matter to us: impact, inclusion, and contribution.

Why Not Merch?

We’ve always felt that too much of what gets labelled as “event merch” ends up in landfill or gathering dust. Cheaply made, often underutilised, and frankly missing an opportunity to mean something, it doesn’t align with our values, nor does it help sell a better service or protect our planet.

So, we asked ourselves:
“If not merch, then what?”

Introducing: Agents for Change

The answer was simple: instead of stuff people don’t need… let’s do good for women who do need help.

That’s how Agents for Change was born, a fundraising campaign supporting three remarkable women’s charities that each tackle a different but crucial challenge women face in the UK.

We chose three organisations, each addressing a very distinct area of need:

Smart Works

Smart Works helps women overcome barriers to employment by providing:

  • Professional coaching

  • Interview preparation

  • Stylish workwear and confidence‑boosting support

Their work transforms CVs, and lives, helping women get into jobs with dignity.

Rosa

Rosa funds grassroots women’s organisations throughout the UK, empowering:

  • Local leaders

  • Community action

  • Long‑term systemic change

They’re the backbone of women’s rights movements nation‑wide, the organisations that can change a neighbourhood… and a nation.

Refuge

Refuge offers essential support for women (and children) experiencing domestic abuse:

  • Safe accommodation

  • Advocacy

  • 24/7 helplines and crisis intervention

They provide safe spaces, and life‑saving lifelines.

How It Works

We’re fundraising on GiveWheel, a purpose‑built platform that helps charities raise money easily, transparently, and socially. Donors can see progress, share support, and join the movement in one place.

Fundraising runs now, through the WIEA After Party, and for 7 days after.
At the close of the campaign, all funds will be split equally between these three charities, ensuring that each gets meaningful support from your generosity.

Our Pledge

We believe in this so passionately that, in addition to our WIEA sponsorship, we’ve already donated £1,000 of The Depositary funds to kickstart the campaign.

Our initial fundraising target is £3,000, and thanks to our donation we’re one‑third of the way there already. But with your help, we know we can go so much further.
